Name Derivation and History
The previous inhabitants of the Sunshine Coast are the Aborigines. The first white people to live in the area are said to be runaway convicts who chose to live with the Aborigines in order to escape justice. Sunshine Coast got its name from its sunny weather and expansive coast line.
Geography
The Sunshine Coast has a vast coastal view and a rich fertile land. It is also surrounded by a couple of world-renowned beaches located in Caloundra, Alexandra Headlands, Coolum, Noosa Heads, and Mooloolaba.

The most popular attractions in the Sunshine Coast, aside from the beaches, are the numerous national parks.
